Bribri Expeditions & Tours

Our values

We do this job because we love nature. We believe everybody should have the possibility to experience all that the natural world has to offer: teachings, healing, deep relaxation, adventure, challenge.

The Bribris have a millenial history of living and learning with and from the jungle. In an effort to preserve this cultural heritage, the Kéköldi community is active in several projects, including a Green Iguana sanctuary and the building of a local school from scratch. Bribri Expeditions is another project born from the community, for the community, as 15% of all revenues are donated to further advance existing projects and develop new ones.

This powerful bond with nature is not an exclusive to Bribris and native americans, though. We are all human beings, and we all come from the land. The goal of our expeditions is allowing participants to tune into this ancient way of being and feel the strength and the healing powers of the natural world. Some things are just beyond words, you have to experience them.

We are therefore highly respectful of the environment and aware of the impact humans being have on their surroundings. Our expeditions are run with a Leave No Trace mindset, and we expect anybody joining us to have a similar approach. Mindless killing of plants and animals and littering are not acceptable.
Our vision

We hope and work for a world where people are more tuned with themselves and everything around them. Much damage has been done to our health and especially our mental health. We can do better than this, but in order to do so, we must understand more deeply our connection to everything that is.
It is now scientifically proven that spending time in the forest benefits our physical and psycological health. According to the Bribris, it goes even further than that. Nature is our spiritual teacher.

We believe that going deep into sacred indigenous territory is a very healing experience. The beauty and the energy of these places is something that touches our very core. Given the right context, people will take what they most need out of such an experience.
