Bribri Expeditions & Tours

Jungle dives and expeditions
Jungle dives are more relaxed. Longer treks and expeditions into the jungle can be challenging. Moderate fitness is required. Higher levels of physical and mental endurance are required for the longest expeditions.
Please make sure to inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions.

Get ready for a proper adventure carried only by your two feet, willpower and Bribri cacao.
Don't forget to read about equipment and food at the bottom of the page.

Jungle Dives
Dives are shorter stints and are ideal if you are not accustomed to life in the wild. Perfect to enjoy stunning landscapes, spot wildlife, take memorable pictures and of course have a first breath of the wild.

Expeditions
Expeditions are long stints and can be taxing on body and mind. Test your limits, enjoy paradisiac landscapes, sleep deep into sacred indigenous territory and feel the power and energy of nature.

Coast-to-coast
An extreme, once-in-a-lifetime experience trekking from the Caribbean to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in 15 days with minimum gear.
OUR DESTINATIONS
Kéköldi
A very short bus ride from Puerto Viejo, Kéköldi is a mix of primary forest, secondary forest and cacao plantations. We trek into the primal jungle, walking about 3 hours before reaching a suitable spot to camp.

Kéköldi is the perfect place to spot a large variety of animals.
Check out our gallery.

Besides everything jungly, in Kéköldi you'll find the biggest waterfall of the region and a watch-tower perfect for birdwatching.

Immerse yourself for 1 or 2 nights.
A good option to start experiencing life in the jungle.

Start time: 10:00
Exit on last day: 12:00
Yorkin
Yorkin lies close to the Panama border and is the last village reachable by motorized vehicles. We drive from Puerto Viejo to Bribri before hitting a 3-4 hour walk to Yorkin village. We will be welcomed by the community and have lunch there, before taking our bags again and going deeper into the jungle.

This is sacred territory for the Bribri and you'll instantly understand why.
An experience you will not forget.

Departure time: 08:00, Puerto Viejo / 08:45 Bribri

What about food?

Our concept is that once in the jungle, you will eat "como la tribu". Like the tribe.
The rainforest offers lots of food, top that with some gallo pinto and you're all set for nutritious meals to fuel you during our adventures.
